MEETING BETWEEN REPRESENTATIVES OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

As part of a joint action plan between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the administration of the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Aini, a constructive meeting was held with university students. The meeting focused on preventing youth from joining extremist and terrorist groups, as well as addressing other pressing societal issues.
Participants included the University's Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Rajabzoda Sirojiddin; Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Nazarzoda Nigora; Head of the Department for Combating Crimes

Against Honor, Dignity, and Moral Integrity of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Lieutenant Colonel Rivojzoda Karimjon; Criminal Investigation Officer Salimzoda Shukhrat; Deputy Head of the Avangard Youth Group, Saidzoda Muhammadsaid; Head of the University's Educational Department, Davlatsho Karimzoda; Head of the Youth Work Department, Murodov Muhammad; deputy deans for student affairs; and students from various faculties.
The meeting was opened by Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Professor Rajabzoda Sirojiddin, who welcomed the guests and introduced them to university staff and students. He emphasized the university's support for the policies of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon.
Following this, Lieutenant Colonel of Police Rivojzoda Karimjon gave a speech highlighting global threats such as extremism and terrorism and discussed measures to prevent them. He noted that although Tajikistan is considered one of the safest countries, some citizens fail to appreciate the peace and stability and instead engage in actions that tarnish the reputation of the Tajik nation.
He further pointed out that incidents of deception, recruitment, illegal border crossings, and radical activities by ill-intentioned individuals within the country are still observed. The speaker emphasized that minors joining extremist groups, improper use of mobile phones by students, and misguided "likes" on banned social media platforms are ongoing issues. He provided real examples and stressed that these challenges remain urgent. He expressed regret that organizers of a terrorist act abroad had exploited the lack of awareness among some Tajik citizens working abroad, thereby damaging the nation's image.
He added that if these individuals had been self-aware, patriotic, and proud of their identity, they would never have committed such shameful and dishonorable acts, especially knowing that their families were waiting for them at home.
Finally, Deputy Head of the Avangard Youth Group, Saidzoda Muhammadsaid, spoke about the dangers of mobile phone misuse. He called on attendees to ensure the proper and timely upbringing of children and students, to instill a strong sense of national identity, to prevent youth involvement in radical movements, and to collectively support the policies of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon.
