At the open sports competition for the “Cup of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan,” held on February 7, 2026, the team of the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Ayni won first place in checkers among teams representing law enforcement agencies, power structures, state enterprises and institutions, as well as other public and private organizations of the republic, becoming the Cup holder.

The university’s checkers and chess team, led by Gadoyev Mahmadullo, lecturer of the Department of Physical Education and Civil Defense, demonstrated high

intellectual skill and secured three individual prize places. In particular, university lecturers Muborakiyon Siddiq and Azizbeki Maarufjon took 1st and 3rd places in men’s checkers, while first-year student of the Faculty of Romance-Germanic Languages, Hasanovа Parinoz, won 3rd place in women’s chess.

It should be noted that last year the university team also received a first-degree diploma and the “Cup of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan”.
