SCIENTIFIC LECTURE BY THE RECTOR OF THE TAJIK PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY HELD AT JEONBUK NATIONAL UNIVERSITY
Following the awarding of the honorary title of “Honorary Professor” by Jeonbuk National University, the Rector of the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Ayni, Ahliddin Ibodullozoda, delivered
a scientific lecture for the faculty members and students of the university on the topic “Relations between Tajikistan and Korea in the Course of History and Diplomacy.”
During the lecture, issues related to the history of cultural and civilizational ties between the peoples of Central Asia and the Korean Peninsula were analyzed, along with the role of the Great Silk Road in the development of interregional relations and the cultural similarities between the two nations.
The Rector emphasized that relations between Tajikistan and Korea are not only the result of modern diplomatic cooperation but are also based on ancient historical and cultural connections. It was noted that unique civilizational monuments of Tajikistan, including the wall paintings of ancient Penjikent and the Ajina Teppa Buddhist monastery, are of great importance as part of Asia’s shared cultural heritage and reflect deep historical cultural ties in the region. It was also stressed that in the context of globalization, Tajikistan–Korea relations are acquiring a new geopolitical significance, while cooperation in the fields of economy, technology, energy, education, and humanitarian diplomacy continues to expand.
Special attention during the lecture was given to the development of scientific and educational cooperation between the two countries, as well as the important role of higher education institutions in strengthening humanitarian diplomacy. Ahliddin Ibodullozoda highlighted the contribution of the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Ayni in teaching the Korean language, training qualified specialists, and developing academic relations, emphasizing that the expansion of student and faculty exchanges, as well as the implementation of joint international programs, could provide a strong foundation for long-term cooperation between Tajikistan and Korea.
At the end of the lecture, the faculty members and students of Jeonbuk National University showed great interest in the topic presented and highly appreciated the organization of such academic events as an important factor in strengthening cultural and academic dialogue, as well as in developing friendly relations between the two countries.
