A scientific conference was held at the university dedicated to the adoption of a new initiative of the Republic of Tajikistan titled “International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations, 2027–2036”, which was adopted on 25 June 2026 by a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly.

The conference was attended by the university rector, Akhliddin Ibodullozoda, vice-rectors, and members of the university administration.

Opening the conference, the rector noted that the adoption of this latest initiative of the Republic of Tajikistan at the United Nations is evidence of the international community’s recognition of Tajikistan’s peace-loving and humanitarian policy under the leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. It was emphasized that the implementation of this decade is of great importance for strengthening the culture of peace, expanding cooperation between states, and educating the younger generation in the spirit of tolerance and mutual understanding.

During the conference, speakers expressed their views on the international significance of Tajikistan’s new initiative, the country’s role in advancing the global peace and security agenda, strengthening the dialogue of civilizations, raising awareness of peace culture among young people, and the contribution of higher education institutions to the upbringing of an educated and responsible generation.

Participants noted that the adoption of this resolution once again strengthens Tajikistan’s status and international prestige, and provides a favorable basis for enhancing constructive cooperation aimed at ensuring lasting peace, stability, and sustainable development.
