September, 2020 Online sessions with Virtual Intern Elise Brittain started in English Resource Center.

Getting a good start!

Each year At Pedagogical University we have kind of tradition participating in Professional Development courses with participation of 55 English teachers of English Faculty. These courses were provided with English Language Fellows and all courses will be provided with Certificates of US Embassy.

From September 22nd, 2020 Virtual Intern started online sessions with 2 group of different English teachers at Pedagogical University. Each day were different group of teachers. The sessions 2 times a week on Tuesdays and on Thursdays. English Resource Center hosts Zoom meeting and Coordinator Gulchehra Ochilova and her assistant Naimjon Gulomov sent the Zoom link to others that they can join from Faculty. All sessions will be recorded for other teachers to watch in order to still be able to participate even though they cannot all attend sessions. Elise Brittain prepared the list of topics for 10 weeks. Strategies included in sessions based on following topic areas from needs analysis:

• Motivate students

• Using technology internet, PowerPoint, online learning, YouTube, etc.)

• Teach speaking to a large class

• Instructional strategy for speaking, listening, reading, and writing

• Pronunciation

• Communicative classroom teaching
